Coach Nay Awarded Arizona Commission on the Arts Creative Youth Grant

Updated: May 18

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Coach Nay has been awarded a $500 Creative Youth Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts! This prestigious grant supports young artists aged 12–17 in developing new skills or advancing their artistic practice outside the traditional school day.

Coach Nay's application stood out for its originality and heartfelt connection to her artistic journey. In her essay, she shared how her passion for thrifting not only fuels her unique fashion style but also empowers her creativity, promotes sustainability through upcycling, and allows her to embody the spirit of one of her favorite TV show characters, Raven Baxter from That's So Raven, who aspired to be a fashion designer.

The Creative Youth Grant is designed to support activities such as paying for lessons, attending workshops, or purchasing supplies and equipment related to an applicant's artistic practice. Coach Nay plans to use the grant funds to further her exploration in fashion design, investing in materials and tools that will help bring her creative visions to life.

This recognition not only celebrates Coach Nay's individual talent and dedication but also highlights the importance of nurturing young artists in our community. Her achievement serves as an inspiration to all our students, demonstrating that with passion and perseverance, their creative dreams are within reach.

We are incredibly proud of Coach Nay and look forward to seeing how she continues to grow and inspire others through her art.
