Celebrating the 3Gs: ATO’s Own Garcia Girls Graduate from ASU Herberger Institute

Updated: 4 days ago

We are thrilled to share a momentous milestone in the At The Outlet, Inc. (ATO) family: the graduation of our very own “3Gs” — the Garcia Girl Graduates — from Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. These three remarkable women, known to our students as Coach Lay, Coach Sha, and Coach Ray, have each earned their Bachelor of Arts degrees, marking a significant achievement that sets a high bar for our ATO Academaniacs.

🎓 Meet the Graduates

Coach Lay – BA in Performance and Movement

Coach Lay’s degree in Performance and Movement is a transdisciplinary program that encourages students to develop collaborative approaches to learning with cultural awareness and professional industry skills across the performing arts.

Coach Sha – BA in Art Studies

Coach Sha pursued a BA in Art Studies, a diverse arts degree offering a broad educational foundation in the arts. Students create unique works of art and gain skills that support a creative lifestyle and enhance a range of career paths, including creative thinking, ethical reasoning, problem solving, cultural awareness, and verbal and written communication skills.

Coach Ray – BA in Filmmaking Practices

Coach Ray earned her BA in Filmmaking Practices, a holistic program where students gain a comprehensive understanding of the art, craft, and business of filmmaking. They are equipped with a broad tool set, including directing, producing, screenwriting, and media technology, preparing them for various roles in the film and media industry.

🌟 Impact on ATO Inc. Programming

The graduation of our 3Gs is more than a personal achievement; it's a transformative moment for ATO Inc. Their advanced knowledge and skills will directly enhance our programs:

  • Expanded Curriculum: Incorporating advanced performance techniques, art theory, and filmmaking into our workshops and classes.

  • Mentorship: Providing our students with role models who exemplify the pursuit of academic and artistic excellence.

  • Community Engagement: Leveraging their expertise to foster deeper connections between our students and the broader arts community.

Their journey underscores the importance of dedication, creativity, and education — values we strive to instill in all our students.

🎉 Looking Ahead

As we celebrate the achievements of Coach Lay, Coach Sha, and Coach Ray, we are inspired to continue our mission with renewed vigor. Their success is a beacon for our ATO Academaniacs, illuminating the path of perseverance and passion.

Congratulations to our 3Gs — your accomplishments resonate throughout the ATO community and beyond.
