A Joyful Close to an Unforgettable Year with ASU Prep Pilgrim Rest

As the school year winds to a close, we are still smiling from the joyful energy that filled the halls of ASU Prep Pilgrim Rest during our final Fun Friday Field Day! On May 16, we turned back the clock with an old-fashioned indoor field day for K–8 students—complete with movement, music, and memories. It was the perfect celebration to cap off a season of growth, creativity, and connection.
But the field day was just one of the incredible highlights from our journey with Pilgrim Rest this spring. On May 8, we had the absolute honor of being showcased at the 4th Grade Jazz Ensemble Choir Concert, where we performed a show-stopping version of our Arizona Rattlers Halftime Routine with over 50 talented students! The pride and passion those students poured into their performance was electric.
Just two days later, on May 10, eight of those students took the big stage at the Arizona Rattlers Game, representing their school and community with excellence and energy. Seeing them light up the arena confirmed what we already knew—these students are powerful, passionate, and ready to shine.
Throughout our weekly sessions, our coaches grew fonder of the students, staff, and families at Pilgrim Rest. Saying goodbye wasn’t easy—so we didn’t. Instead, we said: “Have a great summer, come visit us, and we’ll see you in August!”
We’re excited that some of the ASU Prep students will be joining us for summer camps and enrichment programming, keeping the momentum and magic going through the break.
This partnership, made possible through the City of Phoenix Youth and Education Office's Partner with a Principal Program, has made a meaningful impact—not just on the students, but on us as coaches, and on the entire school community. We’re especially thankful to the school leadership and stakeholders who took time to provide input through our end-of-year feedback survey, which helped us shape our very first impact report—a reflection of the outcomes, joy, and transformation this collaboration brought to life.
Thank you, ASU Prep Pilgrim Rest, for an incredible season of learning, laughing, and leading together. We are so proud of everything we've accomplished, and even more excited for what’s ahead.
