Exploring Together: Our First Monthly Field Trip to the AZ Museum of Natural History

At ATO Academy & At The Outlet, Inc., we believe learning should extend far beyond the classroom. That’s why we’re excited to kick off our first monthly field trip with a visit to the Arizona Museum of Natural History—and we’re inviting all K–12 students in the homeschool and co-op community to join us!


Why Field Trips Matter

Hands-on experiences bring lessons to life. For homeschool and co-op students, field trips offer opportunities to:

  • Spark curiosity through exploration and discovery

  • Connect academic content with real-world examples

  • Build social skills by learning alongside peers

  • Experience the joy of learning in new and dynamic ways


What to Expect

Students will explore exhibits featuring dinosaurs, Arizona’s rich history, and interactive science displays. From uncovering fossils to walking through recreated ancient landscapes, this trip is designed to ignite creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

  • When: Thursday, September 25, 2025

  • Time: 10 AM - 2 PM

  • Where: Arizona Museum of Natural History 53 N Macdonald Avenue – Mesa, AZ 85201

  • Who: All K–12 students who are homeschooled, part of co-ops, or microschools are welcome

  • Cost: K-12 students = $ 6.00 per person, Children Under 5/Adults = $ 9.00 per person and Round Trip Transportation if needed = $ 15.00 per person

  • Public Park Picnic - Students must bring their own bagged lunch & Downtown Sightseeing Tour


Building Community Through Learning

This trip is more than a museum visit—it’s a chance for students to connect, families to network, and our learning community to grow stronger. Each month, we’ll highlight a different location or theme, giving students ongoing opportunities to engage in experiential education.

Space is limited! Registration and payment are due by September 18th at 5 PM so we can finalize transportation and headcount with the venue. Register here!

Safety & Supervision Statement


At The Outlet, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering creative and academic enrichment programs for K–12 youth through our private microschool, ATO Academy, and community-based arts programming across Phoenix. We serve students through flexible, small-group instruction on-site and structured mobile programs at schools, churches, and community venues.

We are not a licensed daycare, charter, or residential care provider, and do not offer unsupervised care. All staff and volunteers are background-checked and trained in youth safety, supervision, and emergency protocols. All educators and coaches are required to hold valid fingerprint clearance cards.

Our team includes certified educators, trained coaches, teaching artists, and volunteers dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students, including those with IEPs or 504 plans. We are proud to be an accredited Out-of-School Time vendor with AZ CASE (Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence).
