We are honored and excited to share that ATO Academy has been selected as one of Arizona’s National School Choice Week (NSCW) All‑Stars! This recognition highlights not just our commitment to creative, student‑centered learning, but also the fact that we get to live and serve in a state where school choice is a real, actionable option for families. National School Choice Week, observed every January, shines a positive spotlight on the range of K–12 education options — from traditional public and charter schools to private, online, and homeschool environments. Its mission is to inform, inspire, and empower families to find the best learning environment for their children.
ATO Academy’s NSCW Highlights
We kicked off this celebration in style and spirit with several memorable community events:
To launch National School Choice Week, we created an energetic music video featuring the talents of our ATO Academy students and coaches — inspired by SLAM! Miami’s collaborative celebration initiative. It was an amazing opportunity to celebrate joy, creativity, and community while reinforcing the power of choice in education. On Friday, January 30, we hosted a FREE K–12 Homeschool Field Day at Encanto Park from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM — open to all students and families! This was a day full of classic field day fun, friendly competition, and community connection. Activities included sack races, relays, tug‑of‑war, and team challenges designed for ALL abilities and ages.We can’t wait to share photos from Field Day soon — stay tuned!
NSCW Fair at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix
We also had a wonderful time connecting with families, educators, and learners at the National School Choice Week Fair on Saturday at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix — celebrating the value of choices in education alongside community partners.
Why This Matters
Being chosen as an NSCW All‑Star is more than an honor — it reflects our belief that every child deserves access to an education that fits their unique needs, strengths, and dreams. School choice opens doors, embraces diversity in learning styles, and empowers families to shape educational paths that truly serve their children.
We are so grateful to National School Choice Week for this recognition and for the ongoing work they do to highlight all forms of educational opportunity — including the learning pathways we celebrate every day at ATO Academy.

📣 The Impact of National School Choice Week
National School Choice Week had a deeply positive and energizing impact on our organization, students, and families. It gave us more than a week of activities — it gave us momentum, visibility, validation, and renewed purpose. 🚀
As an organization whose DNA is built on thinking outside the box, National School Choice Week gave us the platform to do it out loud — authentically, unapologetically, and on a national stage. It allowed us to be fully ourselves, visible and uninhibited, letting our creativity and mission shine for all to see. That visibility was both validating and empowering. 🎤✨
Being part of something bigger helped combat the lonely or isolated feelings that can come with being in the grassroots phase. It reminded us that we are not alone in this work and reconnected us with a renewed sense of pride and emPOWERing inspiration. 🤝❤️
We were also able to share our story with new audiences, giving our “elevator pitch” and hearing our mission reflected back through the voices of families and community members. Each conversation left us feeling more validated, appreciated, hopeful, and excited about reaching full capacity and long-term sustainability. 📈🏁
National School Choice Week truly gave us the fuel to keep going and reaffirmed that the work we are doing is meaningful — and worth it. 🔥🏆
🌟 More Than an Event — A Movement
In addition to our Homeschool Field Day, we participated in the dance music video challenge and attended our first education fair, both of which were electrifying experiences. The energy, inquiries, and opportunities to connect with families and the community were powerful and affirming. ⚡🎶
The music video not only helped us update our marketing media, but it also created unity among our families, students, and even local businesses on our retail strip. Seeing our educational space come alive in vivid color, filled with joy, movement, and shared energy, was truly invigorating. 🎬💃🕺
